I sit here typing this and from every angle, am surrounded by the glorious glow of twinkle lights. Icicle twinkle lights hanging on the eaves, the Christmas tree reflected in the office door and the mirror... sigh. I just love the twinkle lights - they're always so inviting and warm, and always remind me of the holiday season.
It's exciting to drive around and see the lighting displays - our downtown is gorgeous, the houses surrounding me are outlined in white (note to self: must take pics to share). The girls love it too - how fun is it to see everything decorated, every single night?
My mother always told a story about me when I was a little girl - she said that one Christmas we were driving around looking at lights and all I could keep saying was "Oh, doobie-doobie-yeah." Now of course, this embarassed me when I got to be a certain age, and to be honest... I hadn't really thought of it much lately until...
we were driving around our downtown and my little G said "Doobie-doobie-duwah!"
I get it now why that story was so cool for my mom.
Man, I miss her, especially this time of year. She loved the holidays. And she would've loved hearing that little girl say "doobie-doobie-duwah!"
Something tells me she heard it loud and clear.
