She's Bump, She's Bump, She's in my head!

36 weeks and counting...

That is one big belly - ouch.  I'm feeling every bit 8.5 months pregnant right now, but that's okay.  There is a light at the end of the tunnel, and if you're listening bunny, go towards the light.  Don't fight it - come out and see us!

I really am okay holding out four more weeks, since I still have some things to do before this one arrives, like painting a dresser for bug, washing baby clothes and setting up the nursery completely, installing another carseat, and trying to finish some house decorating!  Plus, I've done next to nil knitting, so I'd like to have some time for that too.  K discovered my delivery socks the other night (my fault - I left them on the coffee table) and proceeded to remove the "Sticks" and chew on em!  Ack!  Luckily, no stitches were sacrificed, but I did have to chunk one of my #2 dpns and can't find the other one she was playing with.  It's got to be here somewhere...

Movin and Groovin

So we're finally settled, for the most part, into the new digs.  Now that I've unpacked the essentials and made a livable home, I'm ready to start the knitting once again.  I've made pretty much zero progress on the delivery socks in two weeks, and I better get a move on if I plan to wear them for the upcoming birthday!  Only a little over four weeks to go until my bunny arrives...

And my bug *sob* is now sleeping in a big girl bed... how do they grow up so darn quickly?

An Almost FO is better than none, right?

I've completed the Harvey kimono sweater for bunny, save for finding the perfect buttons, so I'm posting a pic anyway...

It turned out so cute with all of the picot edging, and the yarn is still just so soft and pink!  Love it.  I eeked by with just enough yardage too, as I only had about a foot or so of yarn left when all was said and done.  It was a close one, let me tell ya.

Here is the progress on the Delivery Socks:

I'm loving the pink and green stripes, along with the left twist of the pattern.  I've completed about 3.5 pattern repeats, and I'll probably do 5-6 more since my gauge is smaller than the pattern calls for.  Provided I finish these in time, they will be perfect for my bunny's birthday... and maybe I'll have enough yarn left over to make matching socks for my girls. 

Blogging and knitting will be slow this week as we are finally beginning the moving in process to our new home.  Yay!  Of course, everything can't go as smoothly as planned... our area is getting nailed by this huge storm system right now and over the next couple of days so it'll be some wet moving.  Not fun...

Seaming (and Puking) Party

The blocking is done on the kimono sweater, and I managed to get the shoulder seams together last night after a day filled with a sick little bug...  Poor baby.  I just hate that she's feeling yucky.

So today, maybe I'll get to add the finished garter stitch and picot edge to the fronts and neck portion and add the sleeves.  It's all depending on what bug will let me do.  (These arms can only hold so much baby and knit at the same time...)

I've cast on for some delivery socks using this pattern.  I'm such a copycat (see previous post).  I'm using my preppy sock yarn instead of worsted since this is Texas after all, so I'm hoping my gauge works out okay.  Gauge swatch, you ask??  Yeah right!  I'll just keep my fingers crossed that the stretchiness of the deep ribbing will accommodate my feet.  If not, I'll hang on to the socks and let bug wear them when she's in junior high!  heehee

We've officially passed the 50 days and counting mark - now down to 49...

Block Party

I've officially begun the blocking process on the kimono sweater for bunny - yahoo!  Next up is seaming and finishing and I'll have a FO on my hands.

I've lost my enthusiasm for the GF shrug as of right now, so I'm trying to decide what to cast on for next.  A toy bear for my bug?  Toy bunny for my bunny?  Or maybe some delivery socks a la Anny.  I've got some preppy sock yarn in my stash that is just perfect... now to find a pattern!

Call me nestingirl

I've begun the second sleeve and final piece of the Harvey kimono and am currently working on the sleeve increases - only 4-5 more inches to knit on this baby!  Unfortunately, my nesting instinct has kicked in and thus I must answer Mother Nature and scrub, clean, sweep, mop... both the duplex and the new house, and thus neglect my handknits.

We're looking at moving next weekend which is pretty exciting and exhausting all at once.  For while my mind has all these things I must do, my body isn't exactly conducive to some of them!  33 week pregnant belly = difficult time carrying things, bending over, lifting... argh.  I've got a house and nursery to get ready here.  This is serious business!
