Kalyn,
What an exciting month this has been for you, big girl! Are you really seven months old?
Sorry to say, you had your first real illnesses this month. First, you started out with a lovely fever and rash known as roseola. You were so speckled! Then, you decided to throw in a scary night of vomiting - yikes. I didn't like that at all. It's my job to take care of people when they are ill, and yet I was helpless as I watched my sweet girl be truly sick for the first time. It broke my heart to see you like that, so you're not allowed to do that anymore, okay? Okay??!!
On a happier note, you did something that amazed us this month... you started crawling! Just all of a sudden, you pushed off your feet and made your way across the room. You have now perfected the art of army-crawling, and it is quite entertaining to watch you squirm around on the floor, chasing whatever captures your eye at the moment. Baby-proofing, here we come!
You've also started doing another funny trick. When we put you down in your crib, you crawl to the side and pull down the bumper so you can peek at us! I cracked up the first time you did it, which apparently was a sign of approval, so now you do it every time! I'm giggling now as I'm replaying it in my mind. You are such a funny girl.
At night, you put on a musical show of sorts, singing and squealing in pitches we've never heard. It's been said that you sound like a baby dinosaur from Jurassic Park. Let's see... Kalynsauras, Tyrannosaurus Kalyn... whatever you are, it's amusing. But let's practice this one once again... "mama." Mamamamamamamamamamama. Keep that one in mind.
Kalyn D, it has been so much fun this past month. You are a pretty cool kid, and it's so great to know you're all ours. We are constantly reminded every day how blessed we are and what a miracle you are. This time last year, you were just starting to kick in my belly, and now you're kicking your way across the room. Wow. To the moon and back--
Mama
