Okay - so I've finished the glove portion and here it is....
Pretty cool, huh? I think this will be perfect for my hubby's hunting season! I should finish the mitten shell tomorrow and maybe the second mitten this weekend? I'll be sure to show you my progress. As I was knitting tonight and watching the Bachelor (sinful!), it was so cool to feel little thuds as my baby moves around in my tummy. I don't think it gets any sweeter than this...
I know... I swore I would post a finished broadstreet mitten on Sunday, but obviously, that didn't happen. I was playing domestic goddess cleaning my house and making banana nut bread, and time just slipped away from me, so I'm sorry. But, I do plan on having pics for you later this week. And, I do have something else to show you....
That would be my little one, whose pics were taken yesterday. And we've also been given a preliminary gender, but I'm not revealing it just yet. If anyone still wants to guess whether it's a boy or girl, email me!
I had a fab weekend. I totally cleaned my house like a maniac, and it was so refreshing. Then, on Sunday, I watched my husband wakeboard at the Texas Ski Ranch while I started up again on the Broadstreet Mitten. Here's my hubby in action...

Hello pretty mitten! It took me a while to pick up where I left off, considering I put Broadstreet down about 7-8 months ago. But once I got started, it was like no time had passed! I'm now up to the finger shaping, and then I'll add the thumb and mitten shell. How exciting! The amazing thing is that I am making this out of *gasp!* Kersti!! I bought this Koigu way back when, before Kersti became all the rage, and now it's this fabulous popular yarn. I knew it was special.... *weep* I should be done with the first mitten soon, so I'll post it in all its glory.
And this is a little late, but have to add in the 17 week belly pic. Caution: may need sunglasses to protect eyes from blindingly white tummy!!

Happy Labor Day to everyone! I find it ironic that the first holiday I actually am not working in like, forever, is called Labor Day. Yay for holidays! Yay for new job where I get holidays off!!
I had a wonderful weekend. I went up to my in-laws lake house and enjoyed the beautiful weather, watched my nephews splash in the water, played washers, and, of course, knit!! I really made some progress on the triangle shawl. Everyone around me kept saying, "gosh you've got a long way to go on that thing" after looking at the pattern's picture, and after many explanations, I decided thay they could not grasp the concept of blocking and stretching. *sigh* I knit alone... Here's a progress pic:

I finished my summer knitalong bucket hat in the final minutes before September 1st, whilst watching another suck-you-in episode of Nip/Tuck. I emailed my pic to Becky shortly after midnight, and yay! she accepted my entry. So without further ado, here is my summer bucket, my fredericksburg peach:
I based it on Ann Norling's fruit cap pattern, and formed it into a peach, because I love me some Fredericksburg peaches during the summer in Texas!! Anyhoo, now that I've completed my season of buckets, it's time to move on to fall knits. Mmmmmmmm... I can't wait!
