Blog Neglect

Things have been crazy-busy with the kiddos, work, house, life... so I've been a neglectful blogger.  I hope to contribute more soon... promise!

Happy 3rd, sweet girl

Little Mermaid party supplies:  $75

Homemade Little Mermaid cake:  $20

Happiest birthday girl on the planet:  Priceless

Happy third birthday to my big girl -
To the moon and back, as always...

Letter to my daughter to soon follow...

Nine months later...

and I'm finally welcoming my pair of postpartum socks!!

Of course, I had to model them in my new work shoes... the adorable Dansko Marcelle.

I'm quite happy with how the socks turned out, especially since the striping/pooling turned out pretty similar (I have this thing for symmetry...) - yay!  I have decided though, that while the end product is pretty cool, I don't enjoy sock knitting enough to make many more of these babies.  And if I do it again, I'll stick to plain ole ribbing and stockinette instead of patterns and just let the yarn make it interesting...

Whew.  I almost needed an epidural to get me through the second sock!

Three cable repeats to go...

I'm so close to finishing the PP sock I can already feel it on my foot!!  I've been trying hard to do at least one cable repeat on the foot each night and now I've only got three more to go and toe shaping before I cast off!  Maybe I can get myself up early tomorrow and work on it??  We'll see... I just ordered the cutest new work shoes and those socks would look great with them so I've got some motivation to complete that second sock!

I'm hoping to make a run to the Yarn Barn on Monday and pick up some yarn so I can start working again on K's knit toy.  I underestimated the amount the first time and got to a stopping point a while back when I ran out, so I need to load up on some more yarn...

*gasp*  My big girl will be three in two weeks - where has the time gone?
