G,
Oh my goodness, are you really six months old?? I have totally sucked in the mother of the year department seeing as I've let you fall victim to the second child syndrome... meaning I've slacked on keeping up your monthly letters. It doesn't mean I love you less sweetie. It just means mama sometimes would rather be kissing those sweet cheeks and nibbling on your chubby shoulders than sitting in front of the computer. That said, here we are again at six months.
You have really become quite the eater lately, devouring pretty much anything we've given you and then crying to have more when the bowl/jar is empty! It's great to see you so happy to have a mouthful of cereal and to hear your little "mmmmm-mmm" hum once that spoon is in your mouth. You are too cute.
You are really coming into your own lately as your personality shows itself. You are a sweet baby, always smiling and quietly observing everything going on around you. Compared to the first six weeks of your life, you hardly cry at all anymore and even then it's only because we've failed to recognize your hunger or exhaustion and as soon as we take care of those needs, you're back to being our sweet G. Your voice is becoming fascinating to you as well. You can really turn up the volume as you coo and babble on in your little husky voice. Your big sis likes to chatter back with you in the backseat, convinced you're talking to her. One of these days, you will be doing just that, staying up late at night to have conversations together.
You're getting stronger every day. You're this close to sitting up on your own and just this week, you started to pull up on your knees and lift your tummy. I better start the baby-proofing again, cause I have a feeling that once you figure out the whole movement thing, you'll be just as hard to slow down as your sister! Now if I could only remember where I put the cabinet latches...
Every day that passes is even more exciting than the last, and I can't ever wait to see what you'll surprise me with! Strangely, everything with your big sis was exciting because it was her firsts and mama and daddy's firsts, and with you, it's your firsts, but mama and daddy's lasts cause you're our last baby. We won't get to experience these milestones ever again so we really have to enjoy it, and we do, I do. There isn't a second that goes by that isn't made better because you're part of my world.
Love you a million times to the moon and back!
Mama
